Rules handbook
Card information reference
3 min read Source: CR §2 Updated 1 August 2026
The fifteen printed fields, in the order the rules number them.
1. Name#
The card's identity, and what deck construction counts. A name may be split into a main name and a sub name by an en dash with a space on each side; text before the dash is the main name, text after it is the sub name. Anything that does not match that pattern has neither. Text may refer to a name — including a main name — inside 《double angle brackets》. A card can gain an extra name from an effect, in which case it has both at once.
2. Card type#
Pal, Structure, Gear, Event or Soul. A Pal with the lucky subtype counts as "Pal" and "Lucky Pal" simultaneously; a Pal with the normal subtype counts as "Pal" and "Normal Pal".
3. Type (subtype)#
"Normal Pal" or "Lucky Pal".
4. Element#
Neutral, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ground, Ice, Dark or Dragon, shown as an icon. Neutral is an element, not the absence of one.
5. Work suitability#
The kinds of work a card is suited to. A name inside 「corner brackets」 or “double quotes” in ability text refers to the matching work suitability.
6. Colour#
Red, blue, green or purple, indicated by the background colour of the cost. A colourless card has no colour — colourless is not itself a colour.
7. Cost#
What must be paid to play the card. A number inside ◇ in text refers to a card's cost, or to a modification of it, depending on context.
8. Power#
Damage this Pal deals to Pals and structures, and how much damage it can take before dying. On a structure, the same field is called durability. Both may appear as icons in text.
9. Strike#
Damage this Pal deals to a player. Also appears as an icon.
10. Lucky icon#
Referenced when determining damage dealt to a player.
11. Quick icon#
Marks a card or ability that may be played at additional timings.
12. Card text#
The card's abilities. Text inside round brackets is reminder text — part of the text, but explanatory only, with no effect on the game.
13. Art#
No rules meaning.
14. Flavour#
No rules meaning.
15. Collection data#
Collector number, artist, copyright and anything else with no bearing on play. Not part of the card's information for rules purposes.
Referring to information#
Where an ability names some piece of information, it means any card carrying it. "Gear or red structure" is a gear card or a red structure card; a cost threshold such as "cost 6 or less structure" picks out every structure at or below that cost.
